Continuity of the Lobito Corridor logistics chain for both domestic and international traffic.

Following the severe floods in Benguela Province, Lobito Atlantic Railway continues to ensure the continuity of the Lobito Corridor logistics chain for both domestic and international traffic.

Rail freight and passenger services between Huambo and Luau have remained operational across more than 1,000 km of railway infrastructure, while passenger services operated by Caminho de Ferro de Benguela have progressively resumed between Lobito and Cavaco station.

The multimodal contingency transport plan via the Dango terminal, located approximately 325 km from Lobito, also continues to ramp up successfully. LAR currently handles around five trains per week at Dango, where cargo is transferred to trucks for final delivery to Lobito and vice versa. Capacity continues to increase progressively through the mobilization of additional trucking resources, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, reliability, and local communities.

Emergency rehabilitation works continue to advance, with the support and commitment of Mota-Engil and all operational partners involved in the recovery efforts.

LAR thanks its partners, customers, authorities and employees for their continued support and collaboration throughout this challenging period.
