Lobito Atlantic Railway (LAR) was pleased to welcome Ana Xavier, Portugal's Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and her delegation to Lobito.

The visit was also attended by Cátia Cachuco, Vice-Governor of Benguela for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, His Excellency Nuno Vaultier Mathias, Ambassador of Portugal to Angola, and Tiago Ferraria, CEO of Mota-Engil Angola, representing the Mota-Engil, one of LAR’s shareholders.

The visit provided an opportunity to present LAR’s operations and discuss the strategic role of rail transport in facilitating trade, supporting economic development, and strengthening cooperation between Angola, Portugal and regional partners.

Discussions also highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the public and private sectors to strengthen transport and logistics capabilities, promote skills development and training opportunities, and contribute to sustainable economic growth across the region.
