LAR accompanied visit by Angola’s Minister of Transport to Benguela Province

Lobito Atlantic Railway (LAR), as the infrastructure manager of the Benguela railway line, accompanied the working visit of Angola’s Minister of Transport, Ricardo Viegas D’Abreu, to Benguela Province on May 19.

The visit aimed to assess on the ground the impact of the heavy rains on railway infrastructure affected by the April floods, including the Cavaco River railway bridge.

During the visit, ongoing technical assessment, recovery, and restoration works were reviewed, as well as the intermodal solutions currently implemented to ensure the continuity of logistics flows.

The mission also provided an opportunity to reinforce coordination among the different entities involved in the recovery of the railway infrastructure and to monitor the progress of the interventions underway in the affected sections.
